Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi insists that scoring goals is in Cristiano Ronaldo's DNA, despite the striker failing to net in his first two games for the club.

Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi has insisted that scoring goals is in Cristiano Ronaldo's DNA, despite the five-time Ballon d'Or winner still waiting to get off the mark following his summer move from Real Madrid.

Ronaldo scored 450 goals in just 438 appearances during his nine-year stay in the Spanish capital, but has so far failed to find the back of the net in two Serie A matches for his new club.

However, Matuidi insists that the 33-year-old remains the best player in the world and is confident that he will rediscover his scoring touch sooner rather than later.

"He is the best player in the world. For us it is something exceptional, we are very happy to play with him," Matuidi told reporters.

"We know that if he scores goals it will help us win more matches. We're going to help him score goals because it is in his DNA."

Despite failing to score himself, Ronaldo did register an assist during Saturday's 2-0 win over Lazio.
