Luke Chambers: "Sky's the limit" for Teddy Bishop

Ipswich Town skipper Luke Chambers backs the club's young midfielder Teddy Bishop to be playing in the Premier League sooner rather than later.

Luke Chambers believes that it is "only a matter of time" before his Ipswich Town teammate Teddy Bishop plays in the Premier League.

Eighteen-year-old Bishop made his senior debut for the Tractor Boys earlier this season and he has gone on to earn numerous plaudits for the standard of his performances.

When asked about the midfielder's development, Chambers has insisted that Bishop is "one of the best young players" that he has ever seen.

"The sky's the limit for me. He's one of the best young players I've seen. I'd like to keep it quiet really, but I don't think he'll be kept quiet for very long," he told the East Anglian Daily Times.

"He's around experienced boys that will help him and I think he's got a great career ahead of him. It think it's only a matter of time before he plays in the Premier League. Hopefully he can make it there with us.

"As soon as I have it I just look for him. You know what he's going to produce. He can get out of tight situations. Every time he gets the ball his first thought is to go forwards. Maybe we were lacking that a bit the last couple of seasons."

Bishop has made 15 appearances so far this term, from which he has scored one goal and assisted five more.
