Martin Jol keen to loan out Neil Etheridge

Fulham manager Martin Jol reveals that he wants to send young goalkeeper Neil Etheridge out on loan.

Fulham manager Martin Jol has revealed that he is keen to send young goalkeeper Neil Etheridge out on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 23-year-old was expected to leave Craven Cottage on a temporary deal at the start of the campaign before an injury to Maarten Stekelenburg meant that he was kept on.

However, Jol now wants Etheridge to move elsewhere on a short-term contract in order to gain some first-team experience.

"Neil is one of the keepers who I think should go on loan and get 50-75 games under his belt because he's talented," the Dutchman told the Fulham Chronicle.

"Etheridge hasn't got the experience yet. He's played one or two matches for us.

"He has never played in the Premier League and I think goalkeepers are living by experience."

Etheridge has previously had loan spells with Leatherhead, Charlton Athletic and Bristol Rovers.
