Everton forward Romelu Lukaku hails his side's "hard work" after he scores four in a 6-3 victory over Bournemouth.

Everton forward Romelu Lukaku has praised his side's "hard work" for delivering all three points in their 6-3 win over Bournemouth at Goodison Park this afternoon.

The Belgian netted four times in the barmy encounter, which saw the Cherries at one point bring the scoreline back to 3-2.

"We started well, we did what we had to do. It's disappointing we conceded the goals, but we showed mental resilience," Lukaku told reporters afterwards.

"We said we wanted to come out flying, we worked on it all week. We were sharp and we continued pressing. 3-0 at half time was good, but after half time we weren't mentally sharp.

"We need to see the clips again because if you want to improve we need to get rid of the little problems.

"There's no lack of confidence. We know that hard work pays off. We have to believe that we can catch the teams ahead of us. We need to keep on winning and working hard for each other."

Next up for the Toffees is a trip to Middlesbrough next Saturday.
