Joe Ledley hails "massive" win for Crystal Palace

Match-winner Joe Ledley describes Crystal Palace's 1-0 victory over Leicester City as "massive" in their bid for Premier League survival.

Crystal Palace midfielder Joe Ledley has described his side's win over Leicester City as "massive".

The Welshman scored the only goal of the game at the King Power Stadium on Saturday as the Eagles made it three victories from their last four games in the Premier League.

Ledley believes that beating teams around them in the bottom half of the table will be vital if Palace want to secure their status in the top flight this season.

"It's massive to beat the teams around you," he told the club's official website. "We've done pretty well against the teams around us this season and managed to get another three points [against Leicester]. Away from home we've been pretty good as well so we just need to keep it going and hopefully survive.

"It was massive for me to get the goal. We knew it was going to be difficult here at Leicester and it was always going to be a bit of a battle but we've come through it on top and it was a great three points. Hopefully we can get back on a run again and keep winning."

Palace continue their league campaign on Wednesday night when Newcastle United make the trip to Selhurst Park.
