Chelsea have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Lyon defender Samuel Umtiti.
The 21-year-old was praised for his displays last season, as his club finished runners-up in Ligue 1 to Paris Saint-Germain.
According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea are prepared to offer £10.7m for Umtiti, who is believed to be interested in a move to Stamford Bridge.
However, Lyon have no plans to sell the player and they intend to offer him a contract extension, with his current deal set to expire in two years.
Umtiti has made over 100 appearances for Lyon after coming through the club's youth ranks.
