Jose Mourinho hopes for Fernando Torres resurgence

Recently-reappointed Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho reveals that Fernando Torres is part of his plans amid reports linking the Spaniard with a Stamford Bridge exit.

Jose Mourinho has hinted that Fernando Torres will stay at Chelsea this summer and wants to help the Spaniard recapture his best form.

Torres cost the Europa League winners an English record £50m when he moved to Stamford Bridge from Liverpool in January 2011, but has netted just 15 times in 82 Premier League appearances.

It has been reported that the London club could use the 29-year-old as bait in order to tempt Napoli, now managed by former Chelsea interim boss Rafael Benitez, into selling star striker Edinson Cavani.

The Uruguayan is apparently Mourinho's top transfer target as he begins his second tenure in charge of the Blues, but it seems that Cavani's potential arrival would see him team up with Torres and not replace him.

Mourinho said: "Fernando is more than happy to stay and work hard. If the best for all of us is for Fernando to stay, let's help him and try and get the best out of him."

Cavani has expressed his interest in playing under 'The Special One'.
