Michy Batshuayi vows to help Chelsea dominate Premier League

Michy Batshuayi vows to help Chelsea reach the top of the Premier League table in his first season at the club.

New Chelsea signing Michy Batshuayi has vowed to help the club reach the summit of the Premier League.

The 22-year-old joined the club from Marseille at the weekend.

It is believed that Chelsea, who will have Antonio Conte as manager next season, spent around £33.2m to seal Batshuayi's signature.

The club will not play European football in the 2016-17 campaign after finishing 10th in the previous season, but the Belgian striker is confident that the Blues can bounce back, starting with their opening match against West Ham United on August 13.

"It's a magnificent feeling [to sign] and I'm very happy," Batshuayi told Chelsea TV. "It's a dream for a lot of players. [Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois] told me it's a magnificent club with everything in place to progress and win so I'm very happy to be at this club.

"It's very important [to win the first game] because Chelsea deserve to be at the top of the league and to play in the Champions League. I'm going to do everything I can so that they do. I'm a versatile player, I'm a technical player and I play with my head but I can progress further."

Batshuayi spent two years playing for Marseille.
