Celtic squander two-goal lead over Dundee United

Two goals in the final four minutes earn Dundee United a point from their home encounter with champions Celtic.

Celtic threw away a two-goal lead in the final four minutes to draw 2-2 with Dundee United at Tannadice this afternoon.

Goalscoring chances were few and far between during the opening 45 minutes.

Celtic went closest to breaking the deadlock just before the half-time whistle when Charlie Mulgrew's curling free kick was tipped away by Radoslaw Cierzniak in the home goal.

The away side dominated large parts of the second half, although it took them until the 69th minute to find the net. Tony Watt played in strike partner Miku, who converted from close range to claim his first goal for the Bhoys.

The points looked to have been sealed 10 minutes from time when Watt collected a scuffed clearance from Cierzniak and the 18-year-old beat the keeper at his near post. Watt has now scored four goals from his four starts this season.

However, United midfielder Gary Mackay-Steven reduced the arrears in the closing stages with a curling effort from 18 yards out.

Then in the second minute of stoppage time Efe Ambrose headed the ball beyond Fraser Forster and into his own net to hand United a share of the spoils.
