Bristol City manager Sean O'Driscoll has revealed that he will not rush into signing a new goalkeeper.
The Robins are in the hunt for a stopper following Tom Heaton's move to Burnley and the release of Dean Gerken.
O'Driscoll has said that he will take his time when it comes to finding a new goalkeeper.
He told Bristol City's official website: "Most people will be aware that both of our goalkeepers were out of contract and we will be inundated with names and possible replacements, so we're just sifting through that.
"Costly mistakes can be made, so at this minute in time we're just trying to get character references.
"Some people we know lots about, others we don't, so it's just trying to pin that all together. We'll speak to goalkeeping coaches up and down the country."
American teenager Dylan Castanheira is the only goalkeeper currently on the books at Ashton Gate.
