Nottingham Forest score four goals against 10-man Bolton Wanderers

Nottingham Forest score four goals as Bolton Wanderers have captain Matt Mills sent off.

Nottingham Forest hit four goals past Bolton Wanderers this afternoon as their resurgence under Dougie Freedman continues.

Winger Chris Burke put Forest ahead in the eighth minute after his initial shot was parried by Andrew Lonergan, but he was in the right place to place the rebound into the net. Michail Antonio then quickly added a second, dribbling into the box and shrugging off Bolton defenders before firing into the bottom corner.

Nottingham defender Tim Ream then had to leave the field on a stretcher, before Zach Clough was brought down in the penalty area. Adam le Fondre converted from the resulting spot kick just before half time.

Bolton soon found themselves down to 10 men after the break, captain Matt Mills receiving a red card for two bookable offences.

Bolton keeper Lonergan then had to be stretchered off, after he was injured fouling Dexter Blackstock and giving away a penalty. Ben Amos came on to make his Wanderers debut in his place, but he could not save the resulting Henri Lansbury spot kick.

Burke then added his team's fourth, and his second, just three minutes later, finding the net after Bolton failed to clear their penalty area.

The result sees Forest climb to ninth in the table, while Bolton sink to 18th place.
