Aston Villa are reportedly prepared to submit an offer for Villarreal striker Nicolas Jackson after the World Cup.
The 21-year-old was brought into the Villarreal senior side by current Aston Villa boss Unai Emery last season, and in the current campaign, he has scored three goals and contributed two assists.
He also scored a 94th-minute winner against Almeria in what proved to be Emery's final game as Villarreal's head coach before returning to the Premier League.
According to the Birmingham Mail, Emery is keen to reunite with Jackson, who is believed to be keen on a move to the Premier League.
The report claims that Villa will make an offer after the World Cup, with the forward also attracting interest from Barcelona, Everton and Newcastle United.
Jackson's current contract, which runs until June 2026, reportedly contains a €30 million (£26.1m) release clause, although Villarreal are said to be working on a contract extension.
