Atletico Madrid 'to sign Santiago Arias'

Atletico Madrid will sign PSV Eindhoven defender Santiago Arias as a replacement for Sime Vrsaljko, according to a report.

Atletico Madrid will reportedly sign PSV Eindhoven defender Santiago Arias as a replacement for Sime Vrsaljko.

Vrsaljko is believed to be nearing a move to Inter Milan, which would leave Atletico needing a new right-back to provide competition for the experienced Juanfran.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Arias will soon make the switch to the Wanda Metropolitano, with Atletico beating a number of clubs to the 26-year-old's signature.

Arias, who represented Colombia at the 2018 World Cup, joined PSV from Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2013, and has won three league titles since arriving in Dutch football.

Atletico will continue their preparations for the 2018-19 campaign with a clash against Paris Saint-Germain in the International Champions Cup on Monday.
