Real Sociedad will look elsewhere for a new full-back after reportedly being put off signing Nacho Monreal from Arsenal because of his price tag.

Real Sociedad have reportedly withdrawn their interest in Spanish full-back Nacho Monreal due to Arsenal's reluctance to sell on the cheap.

Monreal was said to be nearing a return to his homeland after being informed by new boss Unai Emery that he was not part of his immediate plans.

Despite the 32-year-old not being considered a first pick, however, Calciomercato claims that Arsenal are still after a significant transfer fee.

The report suggests that Sociedad will now look elsewhere for defensive options, as they seek a replacement for Real Madrid-bound Alvaro Odriozola.

Former Osasuna and Malaga ace Monreal started 26 Premier League games for Arsenal in Arsene Wenger's final campaign at the helm.
