Intermediaries are 'working to find clubs' capable of affording Arsenal attacker Mesut Ozil, according to a report.

Intermediaries are reportedly 'working to find clubs' capable of affording Mesut Ozil as the German attacker looks to leave Arsenal in this summer's transfer window.

Ozil only signed a new £350,000-a-week contract with the Gunners last year and his deal at the Emirates Stadium will run until the end of the 2020-21 campaign.

The 30-year-old's relationship with the club is believed to be at 'breaking point', however, having ruled himself out of Saturday's Premier League clash with Huddersfield Town through illness.

The attacker has missed as many games as he has played this season, with injuries, illness and a loss of form seeing him struggle to hold down a position in Unai Emery's first XI.

According to The Telegraph, intermediaries are working to find clubs capable of taking on Ozil's wages, although 'there is no suggestion' that the middle men are working for Arsenal.

The playmaker has only managed three goals and one assist in 14 Premier League appearances this season.
