Premier League Team of the Week

Sports Mole picks out the 11 players who made their mark in the Premier League this weekend.

Following last weekend's explosive start to the Premier League season, it was a more reserved round of fixtures on Saturday and Sunday.

However, there was still plenty to talk about as Cardiff City stunned Manchester City, while Liverpool continued their 100% record with a win at Aston Villa.

Arsenal finally got off the mark against Fulham, and Tottenham Hotspur recorded their second successive victory over Swansea City.

Here, Sports Mole singles out the 11 players who made their mark.

Asmir Begovic (Stoke City)
The Bosnian followed up last week's imperious showing at Anfield with another fine display between the sticks for the Potters as they came from behind to beat Crystal Palace.

Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur)
The England full-back was a rampant force down the flanks against Swansea City as Spurs made it two wins out of two matches.
Kolo Toure (Liverpool)
Many may have afforded themselves a quiet laugh when the Merseysiders signed the veteran over the summer, but his robust performance in Liverpool's victory at Aston Villa means that he is proving to be a sound bit of business by Brendan Rodgers.
Ben Turner (Cardiff City)
The centre-back put in an exceptionally courageous performance at the back for Cardiff in their memorable triumph over the might of Manchester City.
Jose Enrique (Liverpool)
The Spaniard looked as comfortable as ever in both defence and attack against Aston Villa, and proved his worth by setting up Daniel Sturridge's winning goal.

Aron Gunnarsson (Cardiff City)
Not only did the Icelandic international get Cardiff back into the match against Manchester City with an opportunistic goal, but his energetic presence in midfield was vital in the Bluebirds' win.
Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)
The Reds' skipper gave a dominant box-to-box display at Villa Park as Liverpool maintained their 100% start to the campaign.
Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal)
The Welshman has enjoyed a solid start to the season and it was more of the same this weekend as he bridged defence and attack with plenty of dynamism in Arsenal's victory at Fulham.

Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool)
Sturridge continues to look a real threat for unbeaten Liverpool thanks to his well-taken goal during their win at Aston Villa.
Fraizer Campbell (Cardiff)
Not only did the striker score twice in Cardiff's win over Manchester City, but his relentless energy never gave the fragile visiting defence a moment's peace.
Lukas Podolski (Arsenal)
Questions have been asked about the German's future with the Gunners in recent weeks, though his brace against Fulham is sure to put him firmly back in Arsene Wenger's plans.

Numpty of the week

Joe Hart: The Manchester City goalkeeper will not remember his performance against Cardiff City fondly as a calamitous error gifted the home side the lead in their surprise win.

Goal of the week

Edin Dzeko (Manchester City) vs. Cardiff City: It may have been a bad day at the office for the Blues against Cardiff, but Dzeko's screamer to put them ahead was as fine a strike as you are likely to see this season.
