Bob Wilson: 'Wojciech Szczesny can learn from Petr Cech'

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson believes that Wojciech Szczesny will learn from Petr Cech, should the Chelsea man join the Gunners.

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson has said that Wojciech Szczesny could use the expected arrival of Petr Cech to improve himself as a player.

The Chelsea shot-stopper has been heavily linked with a move across London to the Gunners, although the Czech international has stated that a deal has not been finalised yet.

Szczesny would be expected to fall behind the 33-year-old in the pecking order, but Wilson says that Cech's arrival at the Emirates Stadium would provide the chance for the Poland international to learn from an experienced professional.

"David Ospina did really well at the end of the season but he is at an age where he will want to play, like Petr Cech," Wilson told Sky Sports News.

"With Wojciech Szczesny at 24 years of age, I would hope he would look on this as a real possibility of learning more from one of the great goalkeepers of the game."

Reports have suggested that Cech will join Arsenal in a deal worth £11m.
