Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: 'You have to cope with criticism'

Arsene Wenger believes that one has to cope with criticism as a football manager after he was verbally abused by Arsenal fans at a train station last week.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has described society as a "permanent tribunal" but believes that it is imperative to have the ability to cope with criticism.

The Frenchman has been under fire from a number of Arsenal fans due to the team's inconsistency in the Premier League this season.

Following his side's 3-2 defeat to Stoke City last weekend, a group of supporters verbally abused the coach at a train station.

One of his counterparts Nigel Pearson was charged by the Football Association yesterday after allegedly using insulting language in a heated exchange with a fan during Leicester City's 3-1 defeat to Liverpool.

"I think society is like it is today," Wenger said in this morning's press conference. "You want to win the next game. It's a permanent tribunal from everybody, and it is as it is. You have to cope with that.

"I believe that you want zero tolerance for no respect. You want respect in society and you want to legally make sure that respect is applied to everybody.

"Everybody has the right to be respected. I don't think that anybody likes not to be respected."

Meanwhile, midfielder Aaron Ramsey is reportedly facing four weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
