Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Nottingham Forest

Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal will aim to consign their midweek endeavours to history when they resume Premier League action at home to Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners lost for the first time in the Europa League this season on Thursday, going down 2-0 to PSV Eindhoven courtesy of goals from Joey Veerman and Luuk de Jong.

Arsenal are now out to avoid a three-game winless run following last weekend's draw with Southampton, but they remain two points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Steve Cooper's men, who overcame Liverpool 1-0 last weekend.

Mohamed Elneny

Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Mohamed Elneny is still on the long road back from a serious hamstring injury sustained in August, and the Egyptian is aiming to be back in red and white in the early stages of 2023.

Emile Smith Rowe is also out for the long term after undergoing surgery to address a long-standing groin problem, and Arsenal hope that the England international will be back in training in December.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Possible return date: October 30 (vs. Nottingham Forest)

Despite previous optimism over his fitness, Oleksandr Zinchenko was not able to make the trip to the Netherlands in midweek due to his calf problem, and he remains a doubt for this match having not trained earlier this week.

Marquinhos

Possible return date: October 30 (vs. Nottingham Forest)

Marquinhos was not involved in Arsenal's Europa League loss to PSV due to an illness, but the Brazilian starlet will hope to recover in time to return to the squad this weekend.

Matt Turner

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: October 30 (vs. Nottingham Forest)

Europa League regular Matt Turner missed out in midweek due to a groin strain, but Mikel Arteta does not believe that the American goalkeeper's issue is too serious, so he could push for a place on the bench this weekend.

Gabriel Magalhaes
