Thiago Silva backs Clarence Seedorf for AC Milan success

Thiago Silva says that Clarence Seedorf will "do a great job" if he is named the new manager of AC Milan.

Thiago Silva has backed Clarence Seedorf to be a success at AC Milan, should he be given the position as the club's new manager.

The former Netherlands international is reportedly on the verge of being named as the Rossoneri's new head coach, and ex-Milan defender Silva is confident that he is the right man for the job.

"If Seedorf arrives, he will do a great job because he's a great person and very serious - he will change the mentality of the players," he told reporters.

"I'm sorry for the situation Milan are in, but if Seedorf arrives, something will certainly change. I'm sure big names will arrive."

Seedorf is currently playing for Brazilian club Botafogo, but his agent has said that there is release clause in his contract, allowing him to leave for a managerial position.
