Adriano Galliani: 'AC Milan eager to appoint Carlo Ancelotti'

Adriano Galliani confirms that he will hold talks with Carlo Ancelotti as AC Milan look to bring the Italian back to the San Siro.

AC Milan general manager Adriano Galliani has confirmed that the club are interested in appointing Carlo Ancelotti as head coach for the second time.

Ancelotti, who won the Champions League twice with Milan before leaving in 2009, was sacked by Real Madrid earlier this week after just two seasons in the Spanish capital and he has already suggested that he will take a 12-month sabbatical.

However, Galliani remains hopeful that he can persuade the veteran coach to return to the San Siro for a second spell as Milan look to become challengers in Italy once again.

"I won't give up, I have told him to say yes to our offer. I am going to Vancouver to convince him," he told reporters.

"I have a mandate from the president to bring Carlo to Milan. He is part of our history and family, I met him 28 years ago in Rome."

Filippo Inzaghi is still in charge of Milan, but his future remains uncertain with the Rossoneri currently sitting 10th in Serie A.
