New York Knicks head coach Mike Woodson has reiterated his desire to keep Carmelo Anthony beyond the end of the current season.
Anthony can sign for another NBA team as a free agent in the summer, and Woodson admits that New York's poor form could have an impact on the 29-year-old's decision.
"It would sure make it a lot better if we're able to get into the playoffs," the Knicks coach told ESPN Radio.
"I think at the end of the day Melo will make the right decision. What that decision is going to be, I don't know. But I'd like to think that, being his coach, and being around him the last three years, that he'll stay in New York.
"That's where we want him to stay, that's where I would like to see him. I'm a big Knicks fan, I want him to stay in New York, it would be nice."
Anthony recently hinted that he would be willing to sign a new deal with the Knicks.
