Steve Nash has been ruled out of the Los Angeles Lakers' game against the Oklahoma City Thunder this evening with a nerve problem.
The guard, who is the oldest active player in the NBA, was forced out of the team's game against the Utah Jazz earlier this week with nerve irritation in his back and hamstrings.
The 40-year old told reporters: "It's just a little irritation and a flare up, that's it. I don't have much more to say about it.
"I think after 18 years, you're not really as affected by [talk of his retirement] anyways. I didn't pound my chest when people told me I was great for a long time in my career and I'm not going to let it affect me when people think that I should look at myself in the mirror.
"Life rarely goes as planned. I didn't think it was a guarantee of anything out here."
Nash has averaged 7.6 points in 10 appearances for the Lakers this season.
