Power forward Chandler Parsons will join the Dallas Mavericks after the Houston Rockets decided not to match the offer-sheet presented to the player.
The Mavericks offered the 25-year-old a three-year deal worth $46m (£26.9m), but due to the terms of his contract the Rockets were allowed to try to retain him on the same deal.
However, Houston passed up the opportunity and now Parsons is eagerly anticipating starting life at his new club.
He told ESPN: "I really appreciate the opportunity Houston gave me and I had three great years there, but I am really excited for the next chapter of my career in Dallas - to play with one of the greatest players in Dirk [Nowitzki] and a terrific owner in Mark Cuban."
Parsons averaged 16.6 points a game for the Rockets last season.
