Dirk Nowitzki agrees to re-sign with the Dallas Mavericks?

The Dallas Mavericks reportedly agree to a deal which will see power forward Dirk Nowitzki remain with the team for another three years.

The Dallas Mavericks are expected to announce that German power forward Dirk Nowitzki has agreed to re-sign for the team, according to a report in the press.

The veteran player is thought to have agreed to a significant pay cut to stay at the Mavs, with his new three-year deal considered to be worth around $30m (£17.4m), according to NBA.com.

The 36-year-old became a vital player for Dallas last season having played an important part in a standout offense.

It is thought that during the 2013-2014 season Nowitzki earned in the region of $22m (£12.8m).
