Sunday's La Liga predictions including Real Sociedad vs. Barcelona

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's La Liga fixtures, including Real Sociedad vs. Barcelona.

Betis vs. Celta Vigo (Sunday, 1.00pm)

Aiming to extend their unbeaten run across all competitions to seven matches, Real Betis will welcome Celta Vigo to Estadio Benito Villamarin for a La Liga clash on Sunday afternoon.

Los Verdiblancos recorded a much-needed success in the Conference League on Thursday night, whereas Os Celestes have been afforded nearly a full week to recover from their top-flight battle with Getafe last time out.

We say: Real Betis 2-1 Celta Vigo

Losing just once across six La Liga home matches so far this season, Real Betis should be confident of putting Celta Vigo to the sword in Sevilla on Sunday afternoon.

Os Celestes have enjoyed more time to prepare for this clash due to Los Verdiblancos' European adventures, although we still feel that the hosts should have enough for victory.

Mallorca vs. Atletico (Sunday, 3.15pm)

Atletico Madrid will be aiming to make it four straight wins in all competitions when they head to Mallorca in Spain's top flight on Sunday afternoon.

Diego Simeone's side are currently third in the La Liga table, one point behind second-placed Real Madrid, while Mallorca occupy eighth position, having collected 18 points from their first 12 games of the campaign.

We say: Mallorca 1-1 Atletico Madrid

This is a meeting between the best two defences in La Liga, and we are not expecting many goals this weekend. It would not be a shock to see a 1-0 victory either way, but we just have a feeling that the points will be shared in a 1-1 draw, which would not be the worst result in the world for either side.

Getafe vs. Girona (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Bidding to bounce back from a heavy defeat in the Champions League, Girona will resume their La Liga campaign with a clash against Getafe at Estadi Montilivi on Sunday evening.

The visitors will enter the match off the back of a 4-0 loss to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League, while Getafe suffered a 1-0 defeat to Celta Vigo in their last league fixture on Monday night.

We say: Getafe 0-0 Girona

Girona are missing so many key players, while Getafe are set to be without some key attackers, so a lot of the signs are pointing towards a low-scoring draw this weekend, with the points likely to be shared in the Spanish capital.

Valladolid vs. Athletic Bilbao (Sunday, 5.30pm)

Athletic Bilbao will be aiming to stretch their unbeaten run in all competitions to six matches when they head to Real Valladolid in Spain's top flight on Sunday evening.

The Lions are currently sixth in the La Liga table, boasting 19 points from their first 12 matches of the season, while Real Valladolid are 19th, having picked up only eight points from their opening 12 games of 2024-25.

We say: Real Valladolid 0-2 Athletic Bilbao

Real Valladolid will certainly be the fresher of the two teams heading into this contest, and they are capable of making it difficult for Athletic. The Lions can call upon the greater quality all across the field, though, and we are backing the visitors to win this one relatively comfortably ahead of the November international break.

Real Sociedad vs. Barcelona (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Barcelona will attempt to post a fifth straight victory in La Liga when they resume their domestic campaign with a clash against Real Sociedad at Anoeta Stadium on Sunday night.

Hansi Flick's side have been the standout team in Spain's top flight this term, currently sitting nine points clear of second-placed Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga table, while Real Sociedad are in 11th, with the Basque outfit underwhelming so far in 2024-25.

We say: Real Sociedad 1-3 Barcelona

Real Sociedad's form this season has been disappointing, and we just cannot see them picking up a positive result here. Barcelona are absolutely flying and have so much quality in the final third of the field, so we are fully expecting Flick's team to put another three points on the board ahead of the November international break.
