Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau: 'Derrick Rose injury is unfair'

Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau laments the latest injury setback suffered by point guard Derrick Rose.

Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau has reacted to the news that star point guard Derrick Rose will require knee surgery.

The 26-year-old sustained a torn meniscus in his right knee earlier this week, which leaves him doubtful for the remainder of this season.

"I don't know what to say other than it's just so unfair," Thibodeau told reporters.

"A guy's been through so much and you know what he's put into it. This one, any time you have surgery it's tough, but hopefully this one will be much shorter than the other ones."

It will be Rose's third surgery since 2012 after he initially went down with a torn ACL in his left knee, while he tore the meniscus in his right knee in November 2013.
