Further wrestling joy for Russia as Aleksandr Bogomoev takes 61kg freestyle gold

Aleksandr Bogomoev beats Georgia's Beka Lomtadze at the Heydar Aliyev Arena to claim Russian Federation's ninth wrestling gold medal at the European Games in Baku.

Russian Federation have extended their overall lead at the top of the European Games medals standings by winning gold in the men's wrestling 61kg freestyle.

Aleksandr Bogomoev got the better of Georgia's Beka Lomtadze in the final, claiming a 3-1 victory at the Heydar Aliyev Arena.

It takes Russia's tally up to 32 medals in all at these inaugural Games, with nine of their 18 golds to date coming in wrestling events.

Meanwhile, Haji Aliyev of Azerbaijan and the Ukraine's Vasyl Shuptar secured the bronze medals.
