USA's Sage Kotsenburg enjoyed himself during gold medal triumph

Team USA's Sage Kotsenburg says that he is happy with how everything at the Rosa Khutor Extreme Park in Sochi was organised.

American snowboarder Sage Kotsenburg has said that all the competitors at the Rosa Khutor Extreme Park in Sochi enjoyed themselves.

The 20-year-old won the gold medal in the inaugural slopestyle event at the Winter Olympics on Saturday.

"I think all the riders were stoked today with how everything was organised," he told reporters. "We just went out there and rode.

"On a global level, it's sick to have snowboarding in [the Olympic Winter Games].

"All of us were having a blast. You could see us all high-fiving at the bottom."

Staale Sandbech of Norway and Canada's Mark McMorris won silver and bronze respectively.
