Vancouver Games 2010 skeleton gold medallist Amy Williams has described Great Britain's Lizzy Yarnold as a "unique" talent after the 25-year-old became the new Olympic champion yesterday.
Yarnold beat her nearest competitor, the USA's Noelle Pikus-Pace, by 0.97 seconds to claim gold in the event at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
She told BBC Sport: "She does not seem to get flustered, she does everything so controlled.
"She has worked so hard with the coaches learning the track and everyone has come together to enable her to go out there and just perform. She went out there and won it.
"She is the new breed of skeleton girl that is big, that is powerful, that is strong. She also has something unique within her that you just cannot teach. I will gladly give over my Olympic crown to Lizzy Yarnold."
Williams - who was the reigning skeleton gold medallist - will present Yarnold with the gold medal later this afternoon.
