Team GB chef de mission Mike Hay has dismissed reports decrying the quality of the Sochi Olympic Village and venues, claiming that the accommodation granted to his delegation and athletes is 'as good as any they've seen'.
Multiple reports and images have emerged of problems with hotel rooms, bathrooms and kitchens in the Russian seaside resort, but Hay has insisted that he has had no issues so far.
"The quality of the accommodation we've been granted is as good as any we've seen at an Olympic Games, our athletes and officials are very happy," he said during a press conference held at the Main Press Centre in Sochi.
"The venues are stunning and state of the art and it will be thrilling for our athletes to compete in them."
Billy Morgan and Jamie Nicholls of Team GB have already qualified for the latter stages of the snowboarding slopestyle competition today, reaching the semi-final and final respectively.
