Craig Pickering backs John Baines to succeed

Great Britain's Craig Pickering backs John Baines, his replacement in the two-man bobsleigh event in the Winter Olympics, to succeed with Lamin Deen.

Great Britain's Craig Pickering has revealed that he was pleased to see John Baines called up to replace him in the two-man bobsleigh event in the Winter Olympics.

Pickering was forced to withdraw from the Games after sustaining a back injury, and as a result Baines was selected to take his place alongside Lamin Deen in the competition later this week.

He wrote on Twitter: "Really happy to see that John Baines is replacing me in the 2-man. He's an excellent pusher and I can't wait to see what he can do!"

The 27-year-old admitted earlier this week that he was considering his future in the sport.
