Craig Pickering considers retirement from sport

Craig Pickering admits that the slipped disc he suffered on Friday could signal the end of his athletics career.

British athlete Craig Pickering has admitted that the injury that forced him to be sent home from the Sochi Winter Olympics 2014 could signal the end of his sporting career.

Pickering injured his back on Friday morning, and it was later confirmed that the injury he suffered was a slipped disc.

"Right now, my goal is to come back from this injury to a point where I can live a full life," Pickering told BBC Sport.

"If sport is a part of that, then that's great. If not, that's the way it's meant to be."

The 27-year-old was a sprinter for Team GB before taking up bobsleigh.
