Team GB's David Murdoch "proud" of Sochi display

David Murdoch hails his curling team for winning the silver medal at the 2014 Sochi Games.

Team GB's David Murdoch has said that he is "proud" of his players for winning the silver medal in the men's curling at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Great Britain suffered a 9-3 defeat to Canada in the final in Sochi on Friday, but the 35-year-old insists that everyone in his country should be proud of what they have achieved.

"It feels like a kick in the teeth but once we recovered I will look at what we've achieved," he told Team GB's official website.

"I've chased this medal for such a long time and I'm so proud of the guys for everything they've done.

"If you look at the games we've won to make this final and how we've got the nation behind us, it's just really special. A silver medal is still super cool."

Britain have won four medals in Sochi so far.
