Eve Muirhead hails "fantastic achievement" of Team GB men's curlers

Team GB's women's curling team skip Eve Muirhead says that Britain's men should be proud of their "fantastic achievement", despite missing out on gold.

Eve Muirhead has hailed Great Britain's men's curling team for their "fantastic achievement" of winning a silver medal.

Muirhead, who was part of the women's side that won a bronze medal yesterday, insists that David Murdoch and his men should be happy, despite missing out on gold in today's final against Canada.

"They've had good run up to the final and unfortunately they were second best today," Muirhead told BBC Sport. "It's still a silver medal, a fantastic achievement.

"I know it's going to be a tough few hours for them with the media, but to get to the position they have done, with three of them new to the Olympics, is amazing.

"During the week they've had a bit of a rollercoaster. I wouldn't say they were an embarrassment, they've done well. The Canadians were just really pumped."

Team GB have now won four medals at the Games.
