Team GB's Emma Lonsdale "gutted" for Rowan Cheshire

Great Britain skier Emma Lonsdale reveals that she is desperately disappointed for Rowan Cheshire, who was forced to pull out of the Winter Olympics due to a concussion.

Great Britain skier Emma Lonsdale has admitted that she is "gutted" that Team GB teammate Rowan Cheshire was forced to withdraw from the half-pipe in the Winter Olympics.

Cheshire sustained a concussion after falling during a practice session last week, and as a result will not be able compete in Sochi alongside Lonsdale.

The 29-year-old told the Westmoreland Gazette: "Obviously I'm gutted for Rowan as she is my teammate. She's doing really well but because it was a head injury there is just no way she could risk competing.

"This is not how I wanted to go into the Olympics, it was supposed to be both of us but now I'm skiing for the two of us."

Lonsdale will compete in the half-pipe later today.
