Emma Lonsdale can't wait to get Olympic campaign started

Great Britain skier Emma Lonsdale admits that she has been anxiously waiting to begin her Winter Olympic campaign in Sochi for the past two weeks.

Great Britain skier Emma Lonsdale has admitted that she has been counting down the days to get her Winter Olympic campaign underway.

The 29-year-old will finally get her Games underway in Sochi after waiting 13 days for her event, when she competes in the half-pipe at the Rosa Khutor Extreme Park later today.

She told the Westmoreland Gazette: "It's been brilliant getting to watch so many events and Jenny Jones getting a medal was massively inspirational.

"But everyday I've been thinking is it time yet and when I got to start training it was a bit of a relief to get back onto the pipe."

Lonsdale is Team GB's only competitor in the half-pipe following the withdrawal of Rowan Cheshire.
