Paula Walker: 'No-one wants to finish 12th'

Great Britain bobsleigh pilot Paula Walker admits that she made a "monumental mistake" during their 12th-placed finish at the Winter Olympics.

Paula Walker has admitted that she made a "monumental mistake" during the women's bobsleigh at the Winter Olympics.

Great Britain's duo, consisting of Walker and Rebekah Wilson, finished 12th following a difficult third run in the event.

The pilot told the Team GB website: "No athlete comes in wanting to come 12th at the Olympics but to put it into perspective both Rebekah and I have had a long, long journey in different ways but we have made it to the Olympics. I think we have done ourselves proud.

"With this track the characteristics are such that if you make a mistake before corner six it is game over and I made a monumental mistake between corners two to three. It was only to do with me, nothing to do with Rebekah, and we lost about half a second."

Canada claimed gold in the bobsleigh, while two American pairings completed the podium.
