Team GB's Charlotte Gilmartin looking ahead to 2018 Winter Olympics

British short track speedskater Charlotte Gilmartin says that she is not 'beating herself up' for her modest performances at the Sochi Winter Olympics.

British short track speed skater Charlotte Gilmartin has said that she is 'not beating herself up' for her modest performances at the Sochi Winter Olympics.

The 23-year-old failed to progress beyond the quarter-finals of the women's 500m event and finished fifth in her 1500m heat.

"I wanted to do as well as possible, but this was always about preparing for the next Olympics and getting the experience of competing on this stage," Gilmartin told reporters.

"I'm not beating myself up too much, I'm just going to go home and train even harder."

The 2018 Games will take place in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
