Dominic Parsons: Winter Olympics a 'great experience'

Dominic Parsons says that the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi was a "great experience", despite finishing 10th in the men's skeleton.

Team GB men's skeleton runner Dominic Parsons has said that he enjoyed the "great experience" of the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, despite finishing 10th in his event.

Parsons, who was making his maiden appearance at the Games, finished 0.19 seconds behind his teammate Kristan Bromley.

He told reporters: "I can't really complain. I made a few mistakes in all of the runs but it has been a great experience and I know I have got a lot to work on over the next four years.

"I am just enjoying it for the moment, there is so much that I have had to take in which I can use for the next four years to be well prepared.

"My aims were to be able to be happy with my runs, so I guess I haven't quite managed that. I felt like there was a lot more there but there is not much I can do about it now."

Russian Alexander Tretiakov won gold, Martins Dukurs of Latvia took home silver and Matthew Antoine of the USA claimed the bronze.
