Russia's Adelina Sotnikova: 'I worked hard for Sochi gold'

Russia's Adelina Sotnikova says that she "prepared really well" and worked "very hard" to win gold in the women's figure skating in Sochi.

Russian figure skater Adelina Sotnikova has said that she was determined to win a medal at the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi.

The 17-year-old became her country's first ever gold medallist in the Olympics in ladies' figure skating on Thursday.

"[I was determined] to win a medal in the individual program at any cost," the teenager told Russia Today.

"I set a goal. It was very hard. But I prepared really well."

Russia have won 26 medals in Sochi so far.
