Heather Watson returns to wrap up comeback win over Caroline Garcia

Britain's Heather Watson returns on day two of Wimbledon to seal an impressive comeback win over France's Caroline Garcia in South London.

Britain's Heather Watson returned to her interrupted first-round clash at Wimbledon this afternoon to claim a 1-6 6-3 8-6 victory over Caroline Garcia.

Watson called for bad light on Monday night and the game was suspended with the sets tied at 1-1, after Britain's number one had battled back to claim the second set 6-3.

The encounter resumed under intense sunlight in South London on Tuesday, and both players appeared focused on progressing with the scores quickly zipping to 6-5 in favour of Watson.

The Briton had the chance to serve for the match, but faltered to bring Garcia back in at 6-6 in the final set.

Watson was not put off by her mistake and she soon returned to move the score back to 7-6, before making an impressive collection of shots to seal the final game without interruption and move into the second round.

The 23-year-old will now face Slovakia's Daniela Hantuchova.
