Petra Kvitova races into round three

Defending champion Petra Kvitova books her place in round three at Wimbledon with a routine win over Kurumi Nara.

Petra Kvitova has continued her attempt to successfully defend her Wimbledon title with a dominant win over Kurumi Nara.

The second seed barely broke sweat as she overcame the Japanese by a 6-2 6-0 scoreline in just 58 minutes.

The powerful left-hander, who dropped just one game in her first-round win with Kiki Bertens, found it tough to break away from her opponent during the opening set, but after establishing a 4-2 lead, it was one-way traffic for the remainder of the match.

After taking the first set in 35 minutes, Kvitova required just 23 minutes to whitewash the world number 57 during the second to confirm her place in the last 32.
