John McEnroe backs Novak Djokovic for Wimbledon glory

Former Wimbledon champion John McEnroe believes that Novak Djokovic will beat Roger Federer in this year's final.

Former Wimbledon champion John McEnroe has backed Novak Djokovic to beat Roger Federer in the final at the All England Club this afternoon (Sunday).

Top seed Djokovic is looking to win his second title at SW19, while Federer is chasing a record eighth crown.

While 32-year-old Federer has enjoyed an improvement on court this year under new coach Stefan Edberg, McEnroe believes that Djokovic will come out on top.

"I think even Roger understands that there are not going to be too many more chances, but if they both play the best they can play at this moment in time, I believe Novak has an edge," the American told BBC Sport.

McEnroe won Wimbledon three times in the 1980s before retiring in 1992.
