Eugenie Bouchard has claimed that she had to dig deep to beat Angelique Kerber in the Wimbledon quarter-finals.
The Canadian, 20, reached her third consecutive Grand Slam semi-final of the year on Wednesday thanks to a 6-3 6-4 triumph over the German.
Despite coming through in straight sets, Bouchard admits that she was made to work for the victory.
"It was definitely a tough battle," the youngster told BBC Sport. "I have played her a few times now and it's always been really tough.
"I knew it wasn't over but I stuck in and managed to pull it off. I knew I couldn't think ahead and had to stay in the moment and I just tried to play my game."
Bouchard's reward for beating Kerber is a semi-final encounter with French Open finalist Simona Halep.
