World number one Caroline Wozniacki has negotiated through her first round US Open match against Nuria Llagostera Vives 6-3 6-1.
The 21-year-old never looked in any trouble against her Spanish opponent and wrapped up a straight sets victory in just under an hour.
Wozniacki will take on either Arantxa Rus or Elena Vesnina in the second round.
The young Dane has never won a Grand Slam title.
