Mats Wilander has tipped Andy Murray to end his wait for a Grand Slam title at this year's US Open.
World number four Murray has consistently reached the semi-finals and finals of Slams over the past couple of years, but as yet has been unable to get his hands on a trophy.
However, having recently won Olympic gold at Wimbledon, Wilander believes that the time is right for the 25-year-old to come out on top in New York.
"Andy Murray winning the Olympic Games was incredible and I'm personally going to pick him to win the men's title," seven-time Grand Slam winner Wilander told Eurosport.
"I think it's time. He hasn't played very well in the smaller tournaments but he is doing great otherwise. The help of Ivan Lendl has also been important."
Murray began his campaign at Flushing Meadows with a 6-2 6-4 6-1 victory over Alex Bogomolov Jr earlier today.
