Roberta Vinci reveals that she has no problem playing against fellow Italian and "best friend" Sara Errani at the US Open.

Italy's Roberta Vinci has insisted that she has no problem taking on her "best friend" Sara Errani at the US Open tomorrow.

Vinci set up the quarter-final encounter by knocking out world number two Agnieszka Radwanska yesterday evening.

Despite aiming to win against compatriot Errani, Vinci has admitted that the match can only be a good thing for tennis in her homeland, whatever the outcome.

"I'm happy to play her. For sure an Italian goes to the semi-finals," Vinci said. "She's my best friend and I'm so happy she won against Angelique Kerber today. It has been an unbelievable week and unbelievable tournament for us here."

Vinci has won two of her last five meetings with Errani.
