Petra Kvitova cruises past Karin Knapp in Wuhan

Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova brushes aside Karin Knapp 6-3 6-0 to reach the third round of the Dongfeng Motor Wuhan Open.

Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova reached the third round of the inaugural Dongfeng Motor Wuhan Open by crushing Italy's Karin Knapp in just over an hour this evening.

After a tight opening seven games, Kvitova made the only break of the opening set on her first break point to go 5-3 in front before serving it out comfortably.

She ended the match on a streak of nine straight games by taking the second set 6-0 to reach the last 16.

Up next for 24-year-old in round three is a match against fellow Czech Karolina Pliskova.
