Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has reached the third round of the Aegon Championships at Queen's after beating David Goffin in straight sets this evening.
After the first eight games of the opening set went with serve, the Frenchman had a chance to clinch the set when Goffin made a double fault, but the Belgian recovered before sending the set to a tie-break.
Tsonga raced to a lead, but Goffin fought back to 6-5 before eventually losing out to a forehand down the line from the fifth seed.
The world number 17 came out stronger in the second set, breaking Goffin in the first game on his way to a 4-0 lead.
Goffin, who is ranked 105th in the world, held serve for the remainder of the set, but was never able to test his opponent on the return to give himself a chance of getting back into the match.
Tsonga will face Australia's Marinko Matosevic in the next round.
